So many different sides of the coin. This is what we got with Bush (yes, I voted for him too). But, what would we have received from the other candidates?

Would we have been better? Or worse?

Either way...something has to be done to protect people - in a manner that keeps our systems from being abused. We have great minds in this country, surely SOMEONE can figure something out! It's not rocket science after all.

This is mind blowing, I've never heard of anyone be so realistically honest about the choices they've made in life.
I truly admire your straight forwardness, regret is an emotion we're often in denial about but you've definitely coem to terms with your actions.
I salute you,the true liberals of the world are those who remain true to the definition not to the political stance they are advocates of.

I want to stand and applaude, but it seems so wrong.... wrong in the sense, you are pulling yourself out of such an unfortunate situation, but you are brave, and you are hopeful that things can only get better. For this I commend you; heck I salute you.

It is so wrong that you see unbelievable things in the places or countries which you dont expect. I wrote about this a little recently, but it is uncomparable to what you see and experience first hand.

I admire your efforts in helping these people, and I sincerely hope that humankind can step out from the "liberal" sunshine into the moderate shade, and start realizing what is happening around them.

Outstanding post, and I will applaude you for this! :)
