Wow, I saw you posted something new on my Reader and hesitated from reading it because of the title.
I shy away from any scope of change in my life, I get into situations by the sheer motivation of my friends and parents who want the best for me.But like you've told me numerous times before, the window is open, I have to take the initiative to grab the oppurtunity.
I love your personal insight, you had a good head on your shoulders even at a young age and mashallah, you seem happy and successful to me.

@hfm You're welcome! I'll just contest one word in your comment - successful. I believe that the scale to measure success is dependent on the mark you leave behind. I have a long way to go to achieve success. :)
@Mars True - but then one must be ready to accept any disappointments if they experience them. A lot of people want the fun ride, and a rosy outcome as well; life tends to bitchslap you in such situations :D

Great Post.
I was presented a great opportunity at work that I am pursuing right now and unfortunately my boss is not being as supportive as she could be. I feel like I'm out there to face the dogs on my own..
I have blogged a few times about it due to the uneasy feeling that has passed through me day after day.

@Crista Stay strong, and if you want that opportunity more than the next person, then there will be nothing to stop you from making that opportunity yours. Keeping faith is the most important thing.

And sometimes you have to create those opportunites yourself! We can't always rely on the people around us, situations, etc. to provide opportunites... A lot of the time, the opportunity lies within ourselves and it is up to us to develop that opportunity.
I suppose the biggest obstacle to overcome is the fear of change... But there si that saying - Change is as agood as a holiday!
Speaking of which... I'm on holiday from Friday - summer here I come!!!

MashaAllah, you have a great talent with what to choose & what not to, i mean - you're good with decisions. Unlike me, an oppurtunity will stare my in my face and i will not realise, i guess i have to take some more risks, instead of staying im my comfort zone. Awesome post.

@outcastrebelchic You are young, and will learn with experience. Getting out of your comfort zone is important, but don't forget - if you can't swim well, then venture only as far as your comfy for now - calculated risks! :)
