haha. my mom just learned how to text, and my dad doesn't believe in cell phones. if you met them, you'd think i wore a bonnet to the grocery store, accompanied by my eight sister wives.

I think the reason for the pessimism/resentment to this age of tech - is because some of us have lost our human-ness because of it. We are no longer face to face. It can be an excuse for those who are naturally socially awkward, an excuse for those who don't want to deal with the discomfort of facing someone and having an adult one on one. It has blurred the lines in our relationships. Both men and women think its ok to text message each other out on dates/ get to know each other via emails . tweets . etc.
There is also something really great about it all as well. We can now connect to others faster than we have ever been able to. Our parents generation would have laughed if you told them you were sending them a "message" while you were on a train in London, and they were driving in the deserts of Oman!
I suppose the point is not to abuse the blessings of technology that have been bestowed upon us! (Hah!)
